I-League newbies Neroca FC could sign Liberian International forward Francis Doe as their sixth and final foreigner for the forthcoming season.
The 32 year old International striker from Liberia currently on trial at the club and it is reliably learned that the club is impressed with his performance and could make a deal within a couple of days.
Doe last played for Selangor FA in Malaysian Super League and having a rich experience of club football.Having played in American, African, European and Asian continents, The Liberian can sharpen the attack of Neroca FC who recently go down 2-0 to ISL side Northeast United in a friendly held at Imphal.
Doe began his career with Cameronian side Tonnerre Yaounde and within the course of time, he adjusted to win the best foreign player award in Cameronian top division football. Before him, only Liberian legend George Weah managed to do so.
After a successful season with the Cameronian side, Doe switched his career to Ghanian side Buduburam FC before making a move to USL side Minnesota Thunder.Soon after his debut with the American side he draws interest from various clubs abroad and finally opted for a two year deal with Greek side Atromitos.
Doe spent two seasons with the Greek side and penned a deal with Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls where he managed 8 caps and netted 2 times before moving to fellow MLS side DC United. He then came back to Africa to play for Egyptian top division side Al Ahly where he lasted two seasons with the club.
From 2012 onwards he has been playing for various Malaysian sides where he combinedly secured 124 caps and scored 65 times.
He has represented his country on several occasions including world cup qualifying rounds and African Cup of Nations. He won 22 caps for the country and scored 5 times with the first goal against Rwanda.
Having already captured five foreigners, Neroca FC is desperate to bolster their attacking front ahead of the forthcoming I-League season as even with fielding 2 foreign strikers, they failed to score against ISL side Northeast United in recently concluded friendly. So they are looking for someone who can score and create dangerous attacks in opponent's half.As far as Doe's career is concerned he seems the right choice for the void to be filled.Having the experience of playing in plenty of countries adapting to Indian condition won't be an obstacle for him
